Dear Neighbor,

I hope you and your family are safe and well.

Vallejoans elected me with a call to increase transparency, straight talk and accountability in City Hall. In these difficult times, the need for major reform is greater than ever!

My friends, we have a tough road ahead.  I’ll continue the fight to protect Vallejo by expanding 911 disaster preparedness, emergency health, economic development and workforce housing.

As the newest member of the City Council, I continue to need your help and input. Join me at an online Neighborhood Meeting to discuss your ideas for Vallejo.

If I can assist you with a constituent matter, don’t hesitate to call 707-648-4131 or email me.

Bringing Us All to City Hall — Working for You

I ran for City Council because Vallejo needs stronger, more effective leadership to push major reform and change to address the challenges facing our City.

Frank talk, fresh ideas and energy are needed to solve problems you have been concerned about for years. Here’s what I’ve been working on since my election.  Do read on for the priorities you’ve told me you want me to continue to address.

  • Working 24/7 on COVID response for residents, businesses and churches

  • Organized neighborhood clean-ups to fight disease, vandalism, graffiti, illegal dumping

  • Conducted Town Hall meetings in every neighborhood (continuing online!)

  • Passed anti-eviction legislation

  • Supported homeless shelter center

  • Expanded affordable housing and “hire local” programs

  • Working to implement Independent Citizen Oversight/Police Department Reform

My Priorities

Health and Safety

I’m leading the fight to reform the Police Department, implement civilian oversight, and hold bad police officers accountable. The City must maintain effective 911 response capacity as we continue to address COVID and hazardous fire seasons. I lead monthly neighborhood cleanups to eliminate litter, graffiti and blight because our neighborhoods and public areas must be kept health, safe and clean.

City - School Partnerships

As a father, nothing is more important to me than quality education. The City can do more to support our schools by partnering to increase school safety and helping to address online learning and wifi access learning needs.

Homelessness-Housing.jpg

Homelessness / Housing

This national health emergency affects the most vulnerable in our communities.  We must better provide compassionate mental health, substance abuse, and job training programs to transition people off the street while ensuring our business areas, parks and public areas are safe for everyone.  I helped pass a tough rent control ordinance to protect tenants from unfair evictions  and have worked to expand the City’s affordable housing.

Jobs / Economic Development

My local small business serves medical patients. As we struggle with the COVID-recession, I’ll bring aggressive, “can do” leadership to help our businesses stay open, bring new ones to our City, and create jobs.
